Randy Visina's Memorial Services

My name is Sandy Visina and my Brother Randy passed away early Tuesday morning. After an 8 year battle with Leukemia, almost dying during his first fight, then won and was cancer free for 6 years. During the Spring, tumors started growing on his knee, chest, and face. He went back into the hospital Sept. 4th. for chemotherapy, it was going well, the tumors we're going away, his spirits were up. Unfortunately, his immune system was not. He came down with pneumonia. Having no immune system to fight it off, he was getting weak quickly and was having trouble breathing. He was given oxygen on Monday, I talked with him and his spirits were still up. I talked to him on Thursday and he still was in good spirits but, was wearing a mask to get oxygen. He had a bad cough too. On Friday, the doctor called and told me they needed to put him on a breathing machine and he was not doing well. Saturday, they realized he also had Aspergillus fungus, they treated him with all the meds they could. Sunday, the doctor called to let me know we were loosing him fast, nothing they were trying worked. So, I made arrangements to drive up to be with him, leaving Monday around noon. The doctor called me just before I got on the road and told me that he was dying, his kidneys and other organs were failing due to lack of oxygen. His body was not absorbing the oxygen they were giving him. About to start my 8 hour drive, I asked them to try to keep him as comfortable as possible until I got there. She said they would but if his heart stopped, they said it would be best to let him go. It was the most emotional road trip. When I got there, friends and family where around, so I was happy he was not alone. Randy did not look good at all, his skin was starting to turn purple. We talked with the doctors and they told us what I didn't want to hear, he was not coming back and, he is mostly gone already. Being the power of attorney, the decision to turn off the machines and let my brother go was the hardest decision of my life but, I knew it was the right one. My other brother Roger and I were by his side as well as two other close friends. I held Randy's hand and put my other hand on his heart and my heart broke into a million pieces as I told him it was ok to leave....
Whith this all happening so fast and funds are really low as he has no money and I'm living paycheck to paycheck, I'm asking for help to pay for his memorial services that I really need help with. If there is any amount you could help me with, I would greatly appreciate it.
