This fundraiser has been created by friends of Elsy Primo.
Elsy Primo, “Ms. Elsy” works at The Blue Elephant Learning Center in the 0-6 month infant room. She welcomes parents and babies with her smile and loving arms every day. She brings joy and comfort to all who know her.
In early September, Elsy and her family received the devastating news that she has been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer. Fortunately, the prognosis for thyroid cancer patients is very good, but the road to being cancer free is long and not easy.
Before Ms. Elsy could even process the diagnosis, the doctors told her that she would undergo a thyroidectomy to remove the thyroid within weeks. She may also need to remove some lymph nodes dependent on if the cancer has metastasized or not. Ms. Elsy will be scheduled to have the surgery at the end of September/early October. Following the surgery, she will eventually receive radioactive iodine treatment.
Even though Ms. Elsy does have insurance, the surgery costs are still a huge burden. In addition, she has incurred expenses for scans, biopsies, labs, etc. Future costs will follow as well including; medication, scans, labs, doctor visits.
Funding should be the last thing a cancer patient worries about. Beating cancer should be number one!
You can show your support for Ms. Elsy by keeping her in your prayers and donating what you can. Ms. Elsy and her family will be forever grateful for the love and support shown during this difficult time. Ms. Elsy’s everyday job is to care for people. This is our chance to take care of her!
