This account was made for my husband and me due to a tragic event that recently occurred. We were involved in a grease fire at our apartment that started “because being newlyweds we can’t cook real good yet” (ha-ha). We wanted to save our apartment and our dogs, so we carried the pan holding the flaming oil out of our apartment. We ended up suffering from 2nd and 3rd degree burns on specific parts of our bodies from the scorching oil that fell on us. It has been a journey from being rushed to Lee Memorial and then medevac to Tampa Hospital’s burn unit. It has been two weeks since the accident and we are now beginning our out-patient recovery. Any donations will be very much appreciated being put towards our high cost medical deductions, burn medication and supplies, etc. We would like to thank Tampa General Hospital (the burn unit and the wound department) for the wonderful care they have provided both of us.
