Hi,
Our family dog, Odin Growlithe Verzon III, has been tragically diagnosed with Cervical (Neck) Disk Disease and Intervertebral neck disease.
Cervical disc disease - the cause of intervertebral disc to lose its flexibility, as the gelatinous center of the disc degenerates and becomes hard and calcified. When this happens, your dog's intervertebral discs can no longer function normally as spinal shock absorbers. They become more likely to bulge and rupture. This puts undue pressure on the spinal cord and can lead to severe pain and even paralysis.
Odin is currently in severe pain and in dire need of a CT scan and surgery. We prefer for Odin to go to UC Davis for treatment. However, costs are expensive. We are hoping a gofundme account can help assists with the costs. He has a 25% chance of being paralyzed after surgery.
Odin is a Shiba Inu and Pomeranian mix and he is 7 human years old. He is our family dog and he means so much to us. He brings so much joy to the people around him. We hope for the best for Odin.
