Phil's Recovery

On April 3, Phil woke up and his right leg was so swollen and painful he was unable to walk. He went to the ER and they drained quite a lot of fluid off of his knee and sent it for analysis. They admitted him into the hospital, and a few days later we found out he had a staff infection. He was septic and the infection was in his blood and organs. They started him on an aggressive course of antibiotics and transferred him to a nursing home to receive his IV treatments.
On the night of Easter Sunday, I received a phone call from the nursing home. Phil was having uncontrollable seizures and his heart had stopped. They had to perform CPR on him and had rushed him to the hospital. Through a litany of tests, they discovered that he had lesions on his brain from the stroke he had 2 years ago. This along with the added stress on his body from fighting the infection was causing the seizures. They were able to stop the seizures and stabilize him. A few days later they determined that he could go home, but that he would still need 6 weeks of IV antibiotics.
These antibiotics are being delivered 3 times a day for the foreseeable future. The doctors say that once he's off of the antibiotics, he can start to regain his strength. Right now, the drugs make him very sick and weak. He is unable to work while receiving this treatment. He will be prone to seizures for the rest of his life.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
