HOPE FOR DARCY'S RECOVERY :)
Darcy Deacy is a kind and hardworking wife, mom and friend who is slowly having her life taken away from her.
In the autumn of 2013, after making it to the 5 year breast cancer-free milestone, Darcy took a bad fall down the stairs. That fall had a crippling effect on her left side and from there forever changed her life. Followed by a trip to the emergency room and an overnight stay on the neurology floor, she underwent dozens of tests, x-ray's, an MRI and Cat scan. At her follow up visit, Darcy's doctor delivered the devastating news that she is suffering from Parkinon's Disease, a progressive disorder of the nervous system that affects movement. Although Parkinson's disease can't be cured, medicaions may markedly improve the symptoms. Unfortunately, Darcy has not responded to any of the medications leaving her to search for and try other options that are costly and not covered by insurance. However, she recently learned (adult) stem cell therapy may halt the progression and improve the quality of her life, but again this is not covered by insurance.
Darcy continues to fight, even as she declines. Heroically, she goes to work every day, yet she needs to rely heavily upon Eddie and Sarah for even the smallest things that most people take for granted, As yet, the (adult) stem cell therapy treatment is the only hope on the horizon for Darcy.
