Float Seattle - Let's lift each other up!
To our Float Seattle community,
As most of you know, we've temporarily closed our doors until May (updated) as mandated by the Governor of Washington. As the science reveals itself and CDC provides guidance, we will follow their lead as to when it is safe for the community at large to reopen.
This is a strange and challenging time for individuals and small businesses alike. There is fear and uncertainty all around, but there is also beauty in that we truly are all in this together. There is so much opportunity for loving kindness and connection, despite the physical distancing. Friends and family, and communities will rise back up together.
Truthfully, we're in a difficult spot right now as a business in that we still have fixed costs to maintain our three studios, but ever-shrinking revenue with no floaters coming in. And while we're working on creative solutions, unlike yoga and fitness studios, we can't quite bring floating to your home virtually :)
As a team, we are taking this time to work on content creation, brainstorming, and improving operations behind the scenes. We truly believe that floating will be more important than ever for our community as we get through all this. We want to be our best selves when that time comes. Don't worry, we're taking a moment to rest as well!
While we remain calm and optimistic, like a lot of small businesses, we are definitely in survival mode. As owners, we're not paying ourselves. Our staff has been laid off and those who are working behind the scenes are volunteering their time. We ARE still paying our contribution to employee health care.
So Dean and I, along with the staff, are asking you for your support. If you are on a membership and financially are able to continue paying for it, it means the world to us to stay on*! All floats roll-over and never expire. Unlimited Membership charge dates have been pushed back.
*By the way, we'll be matching each membership fee and extra float purchased by donating a float to Seattle Healthcare workers when we re-open!

________
If your life has been positively impacted by floating and the presence of Float Seattle, we humbly ask for your financial support so that we can weather this storm as gracefully as possible. As soon as it is deemed safe to do so, we will re-open for floats. Your financial support will help us cover certain baseline operating costs to keep the studio spaces as well as support our staff (namely healthcare). The SBA loan options are great as well, but will likely just cover the basics to get back up and running. We want to be as complete and healthy as possible so that we're fit to serve you all when the time comes!
In love and gratitude, be well!
Andrew Loppnow
