Diana is our sister and friend - She needs your prayers, love and if you can, your financial assistance.
Ever since she was a little girl, Diana won over many hearts. Her outgoing attitude, helpfulness, love of life, and genuineness has rewarded her with many friendships. Diana has always been happy working hard at what she loves. The personal pride she shows in her work is amazing. (Diana is one of the only people you will meet who can turn a garage into a palace – by going to second hand stores and garage sales, Diana’s innate talent to decorate will leave you with a room that is breathtaking!) Diana also has shared her love of cats by volunteering much time and love to shelter kitties. She once found a little brown kitten in Florida and found her a forever family in NJ!
Never selfish - Diana was always there for all of us with a hug, encouragement, friendship and love….
It's our turn now: We need to come together and keep her smiling! The money she has earned is dwindling….she needs us all now.
In June 2016, Diana traveled back home to NJ to say her final goodbye to her Dad. Sadly, he passed away from cancer. Diana loved her Dad so very much. Honestly, you could consider her ‘Daddy’s little girl’. One week after returning home to Florida, she was rushed to the Emergency Room to learn that her appendix burst – she had to have emergency surgery. Never having been ill before with anything other than a common cold, she had no idea how painful this could be. She stayed strong and after some complications, was released from the hospital to start the healing process. She was glad to have this all behind her and was looking forward to going back to work. (She actually said. “After this, I will never complain about my job – I love it and can’t wait to get back.”)
It was four days later when she received that phone call from the surgeon…..”Diana, you have cancer.” These are words that NO ONE wants to or deserves to hear.
Two weeks later, she had her second surgery to determine what was going on. After additional testing, she was diagnosed with Appendix/mixed Adeno-neuroendocrine carcinoma : A cancer that not many places are able to treat. Fortunately, she was accepted as a patient at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC. Her treatment will require approximately 3-4 months of Chemo in Florida and then a trip to NYC for extensive surgery. (She always wanted to see the city during the Holidays, but really?).
Needless to say, this will be a long fight – BUT one she is ready and willing to fight!
We really would appreciate your prayers and love to help her along the way…..And, any financial assistance you can offer: The day to day bills along with all of the medical bills are coming in – but her income has stopped….Please consider helping her by contributing.
