Britt's Battle Round #2
Donation protected
Happy Fall Everyone! My name is Brittany Nieves (Mauk), and I grew up in Kinsman Ohio. Six years ago I moved to Florida, became a kindergarten teacher, and found the love of my life.
I am sure a lot of you know last year my husband and I had a lot of trials and tribulations through our first year of marriage. The week of our wedding we found out that I had Hodgkin's Lymphoma. We were devastated as we were planning on trying to have children right away and start our family. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case.
We spent all of last year battling together, and with the help from our friends, family, and doctors we overcame our battle and I was in remission!I went back to the gym, went back to teaching, and am completely in love with my class this year! And then last week I had a standard four month check up...And unfortunately we recieved some devastating news.
We have recently discovered that my cancer has come back, and the health care process is so much more extensive the second time around. I will be needing a few intense rounds of chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant, and at least a year of mild chemotherapy and with the Grace of God, I hope to be in remission by the end of that year. This will be roughly a two year process that will greatly impact my famly and me.
We were so incredibly blessed last year to have the support from so many family and friends; some of those we know closely and some we do not. It is with heavy hearts; but we are asking for your help and support once again as we embark on this trying journey.
I will begin chemotherapy in a few weeks and I am not able to work throughout this process. My husband will be travelling back and forth to Florida to try and work through this process because obviously we need the income. But to be honest, it is very difficult for me to be separated from him because as I go through this, I am sure you can understand that I need him for support!
We cannot begin to explain the humbleness we feel by all of the support we recieved last time, and hopefully the support we will recieve the second time around. Please know that every donation of any size helps our cause, and we will not be able to express the gratitude we feel towards your graciousness.
We know God is with us and guiding us through this journey. We also feel the love and prayers flowing in from all of you. God bless all those that are going through hardships in life, and all of those that are helping support those in need. Thank you for everything you do, and know we appreciate it more than words can say.
