Stem Cell Therapy For My Mom
Donation protected
My mom was diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) back in 2001.
After losing my little sister that same year, the diagnosis was extremely hard on all of us, but with the support of our family and friends we knew that we would find a way to get through it, like we always have, and always will.
As the years passed us by, MS slowly ate away at my mom's body; I watched her go from a healthy mother, wife, and hair dresser, to being wheelchair bound and unable to care for herself. My mother has given up so much because of her disease - she had to quit her job as a hairdresser, a job she loved and excelled at, she lost her independence, her ability to do simple tasks that we take for granted every day, and so many other countless sacrifices. MS has taken so much from my mom, and my entire family.
Last night, we received a phone call from a stem cell therapy facility in California saying that my mom has been approved for stem cell therapy, an experimental treatment that has shown extremely positive results in a great majority of patients with MS. Similar studies have shown that 70% of participants had no further progression of the disease, and for a good amount of people, the effects of the disease have even been reversed.
The only catch is that the treatment alone, without travel expenses, costs $20,000 - which a family supported by only one income cannot afford. We really need all of the help we can get. This treatment is the only chance we have of helping my mom fight MS and finally get her life back.
So I'm asking everyone that sees this, please help us raise the money we need to get my mom treatment.
