My name is Nicole Kezama and my sister Danielle Washington has cancer. She is 36 years old and a mother of 6 beautiful girls. Cancer is never good nor is it expected.
After having her 5th child my sister decided to get breast implants. This was a desicion that she did not enter into lightly and she gathered the info about it prior. The Doctor was very helpful and they came up with a plan to help my sister feel better about her body after nursing 5 children. There were no real risks associated with the implants....no risk that were disclosed to her.
5 years later my sister experienced a severe swelling in one breast. She knew something was wrong and went to the Doctor and they removed the fluid and sent some off for testing as a "standard procedure". They also did a series of other test. At this point the Doctor expressed that there was a very rare cancer that was associated with the implants but he was confident that this was not affecting her and she was not at risk. Soon after she got the news from the saying that she had an extremely rare cancer that was caused by the implants. Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma. Her world was turned upside down.
Danielle has a surgery date set for September 29 to have a capsulectomy done but she has been sick for months now and unable to work. Their bills have been piling up as her income was needed to support their household. Financially they are drained already and need support. It is anticipated that the recovery from the surgery will be long and she will not be able to care for her children without help. I would like to rally support for her to help with childcare, homecare and nursing care expenses. Also this fund will help support her family while she is recieving treatment. We currently have no idea of what the status of her cancer is yet as she has not been staged.
Would you please support my sister? I know that we all have bills and expenses but everyone can give something, even if it is only 5 dollars. The other thing that everyone can do is share this campaign with others. Would you please do that? In this life that we live we all have choices, so skip the Starbucks for 1 day and please give. I appreciate all of your support and I want to give each of you a hug to thank you if we meet one day.
