As many of her friends and family members are aware, Krista Spring underwent major abdominal surgery early Friday morning, September 16. Krista was rushed to the emergency room on Thursday night by her husband, Jason, due to severe stomach pain. After a CAT scan, they discovered that a part of Krista's intestinal tract was twisted, known in the medical world as a volvulus. Due to the twisting, blood flow was cut off to part of her colon, resulting in dead bowel. Krista underwent a partial bowel resection of the affected part of the colon. Krista is resting following this big procedure at Maine Medical Center, but because of the extent of the surgery and the possibility of infection, she will not be able to return to work for some length of time. If you are familiar with Krista and her family, you know of all the obstacles that they have had to overcome over the last few years. Relying on one income is going to result in hardships for Krista's family, her husband and her twin sons. It would mean so much if everyone came together right now to support the Spring family who has endured so much.
