My son Kit is only 16 years old and is currently fighting Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia — a battle no teenager should ever have to face.

Kit is a typical 16-year-old who loves spending time with his friends, travelling and pushing himself to try new adventures. Throughout everything he’s faced so far, he has handled it with incredible dignity, bravery and humour. Kit has the biggest heart and is loved by everyone who knows him for his huge personality, his love of adventure, anything a little bit dangerous, silly pranks — and of course his passion for Arsenal.

Kit’s Hope Trip

At the end of November last year, our world changed forever when our son Kit was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL – B Type).

Since that moment, Kit has shown a level of bravery and strength that no child should ever have to find. Ahead of him is a long and incredibly tough two-year treatment journey, filled with hospital stays, procedures, uncertainty, and days that will test him physically and emotionally.

This fundraiser is called Kit’s Hope Trip, because hope matters — especially when the road ahead feels long.

Why we’re fundraising

When Kit finishes his treatment, we want him to have something truly amazing to look forward to — a trip of a lifetime.

Not just a holiday, but a celebration of everything he has endured, a reward for his courage, and a reminder that there is light at the end of this journey.

Kit has set himself a personal goal for when he reaches the end of treatment — to travel across the world and complete a once-in-a-lifetime bungee jump in New Zealand. Along the way, he dreams of visiting and experiencing different cultures in Thailand, Vietnam and Bali before finally reaching New Zealand for that ultimate challenge.

During treatment, having a goal and a focus can make an enormous difference. This trip gives Kit something positive to hold onto on the hardest days — a reason to keep going.

Supporting other young people with cancer

We also want this fundraiser to help other children and young people facing cancer.

50% of all money raised will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity that has already massively supported Kit and continues to support countless young people bravely battling cancer every single day.

Teenage Cancer Trust provides specialist care, emotional support, and safe spaces for young people when they need it most — and we are incredibly grateful for everything they’ve done for Kit so far.
