My name is Lesley Couch, and a small group of us wanted to start this GOFUNDME page as a way for the people who knew and loved Cheryl Burkett to have a way to help support Bill and her family during this difficult time.
On Saturday September 17, 2016, Cheryl suffered a massive heart attack and passed away surrounded by loved ones. Unfortunately she did not have any life insurance, and as we all often feel, we think there will be more time. Any amount to help the Burkett/Mrgan family out at this time, to go towards Cheryl's final expenses and help ease this heavy burden is appreciated.
To know Cheryl was to love her..
She was a doting wife and mother, and was just so proud of her 5 children (and two grandchildren) and everything they have accomplished so far. She always had a smile on her face and a light in her eyes when she spoke of them. She was a dedicated volunteer with our Buckner Festival Committee, and a fierce advocate for our community. She also volunteered her time and her skills to sew Angel gowns for Tiny Two Giraffe Project. Cheryl always had a project going, and enjoyed keeping busy. She loved to camp, garden and craft. She also enjoyed taking care of her 4 pups, and her backyard chickens who she lovingly referred to as "the girls." Cheryl really loved her life and the people in it. She was an incredible woman who will be missed by many.
I feel a little cheated as I did not get to be a friend to Cheryl for as long as many others have. But in the amount of time I had with her, she made a huge impact on my life. Her constant laughter will always remind me that nothing in life is meant to be taken too seriously. I saw this saying yesterday, and it has stuck with me since.. "A life that touches others will go on forever." This is true of Cheryl Burkett.
