Hi, I'm Claire Gandy, an optometrist from Brighton.
In February 2017 I plan to work for two weeks in Kenya to provide some critical optometry services with the registered charity, SeeKenya.

We will be performing eye tests and giving free eye treatment and free glasses to people who cannot afford them. In Kenya approximately 95% of the population has no access to eye services.

The outcomes of this work are to reduce blindness, to treat painful eye conditions such as trachoma and to improve individuals' sight. The benefits of being able to see more clearly are obvious, helping children with their studies and enabling adults to find work. I would like to pass on some of the good fortune that we have with the affordable provision of eye healthcare and glasses here in the UK.

In order to get there and do this work, I need to fundraise £1350.  Any amount of money that you can spare towards this good cause will be very much appreciated by myself and our patients in Kenya.
