Maddisons Journey
Donation protected
I know many people have seen for some time since Maddison was born that she is a very poorly little girl. I also know many of you may not actually know what this is down to. Its now time to share Maddies journey and kindly ask for some help.
Before Maddison was born she was diagnosed with DiGeorge Syndrome (22q). This is a deletion of chromsone 22, this can cause many different problems for children ranging from minor to serious. 24 hours after Maddison was born she started to decline... She spent 3 weeks in ICU. Soon after bringing her home Maddison was back into hospital. She had stopped breathing at home... this then happened 3 more times leading up to Christmas. We knew she was seriously seriously ill.
When Maddison had routinue bloods done for her immune system they discovered Maddison had such low white blood cell count she was transfered straight to Great Ormond Street and it was here they picked up on her Immuno Deficency problems. Maddison has a very very weak immune system... something that needs to be repired or she will loose her life. Maddison has been trying to fight some viruses for 4 months a has continued to pick more up. Drugs manage her infections/viruses but she has not been able to get rid of them which is why she is in ICU with great ammount of assitance breathing and constant drugs.
Maddies hope is a Bone Marrow Transplant from her sister Lily however there are huge risks to this procedure we have been made aware of. If this happens this is ireversable, it would result in Maddies death however if she does not have this procedure her viruses/infections could also result in her death. This is an absoultely heart breaking time for us all. This is why i am asking for some help. We want to live as stress free as we can over the next few months. Not have to worry about finacial issues. We do not know if we are ever going to return home with our baby girl, her options are limited and very risky.
Any dontations will go towards normal living costs here in London, transport to and from the hospital and anything Maddison needs during her time in Great Ormond Steet.
Anything is helpful and i am forever greatful for everyones support. Thank you, Ben, Holly, Lily and Maddison xxxx
