My name is Ben Hurst and I am setting up this page for my dad - Ben Hurst (Dad, Husband, Avid Cyclist, dog lover and Pastor of Northside Baptist just to name a few). He was recently in an accident on August 29th, 2016 while riding his bike and sustained a very severe injury. His C6 and C7 vertebrae were fractured and actually pulled and twisted away from the spinal cord. A 5-hour surgery was done to align and fuse the vertebrae together, but that doesn’t mean all is well.

While he has the use of his arms, he currently has very little use of his fingers and anything below his upper body.  We are praying for a miracle, but in the meantime, the reality is that my mom and dad will have a very tough road to recovery - physically, mentally, and monetarily.   

We want to raise enough money so that my mom can provide the full time care that Dad will need and be able to pay the medical bills that come with this type of injury, 2.5 weeks in neuro surgery ICU and countless weeks and months to come in rehab.  They will owe 15% of what I am assuming will be around a $1 million dollar bill. There is also lost wages and potential updates that may need to be done to their home to make it accessible.

My dad has always given 100% whether it be helping, counseling, visiting, officiating marriages & funerals, preaching, parenting, riding his bike and so on.  I am asking you to help them out now in their time of need as this will ease their financial burden!
