Finish Flint's House!

”Grief is the last act of love we have to give to those we loved. Where there is deep grief, there was great love.”
On Monday afternoon, Sept. 12, Flint Sharpe, 55, of Smiths Station, AL, was in a fatal head-on collision.
Flint’s family not only suffered the sudden, devastating loss of a husband and father, but now is trying to finish the home that Flint had been working on for his family to live in for years. This past spring, they were able to start construction on a home of their own and were set to move in just before Thanksgiving. Flint gave so much of himself to this community, and we want to give back by ensuring that his family gets in to the home that he so dreamed of providing for them.
Flint was an amazing husband, father, coach and friend who was taken home before any of us were ready for him to go. Although untimely, he leaves behind a tremendous legacy of love; a true servant in his church and community.
Married 28 years, he loved his family. He showed his love intangibly through support for any sport, project or pageant, often leaving handwritten notes of encouragement. He spent untold hours volunteering at church with Upwards Basketball, a program that was dear to his heart, doing all the things no one ever saw; cleaning bathrooms, sweeping floors and hours of work behind a computer. He wanted every kid to know about Jesus and if that meant using a basketball then he would do it.
Flint’s accident is the kind of news you can never be prepared for. An otherwise uneventful afternoon turned tragic, leaving a family and community with heavy hearts and one less member. While we mourn his death, we rejoice that he was prepared for heaven.
This Go Fund Me has been started to ensure that his wifeand daughter are able to move in as planned. Any amount that one is able to give is appreciated.
