My name is Bhagwati, and I am raising money for Dharmendra, a close friend of my late husband Dipak, and for Dharmendra’s family—his wife, young daughter, and young son.

Recently, Dharmendra was diagnosed with stage 2 throat cancer. This diagnosis has completely changed his life and the lives of those who depend on him. Due to his illness, he is currently unable to work, which has made an already difficult situation even more challenging for his family. They have always lived simply and worked hard to support one another, and now they are facing medical and daily living expenses that are more than they can manage on their own.

Dharmendra needs ongoing radiation treatment, and each session costs approximately $500, which is an extremely large amount in India. Along with medical costs, his family is also struggling to cover basic needs such as housing, food, and other essential household expenses while he focuses on treatment and recovery. With two young children and a wife who rely on him, this has been an incredibly stressful and uncertain time for them.

All funds raised will go directly toward Dharmendra’s medical treatment as well as supporting his family’s daily living expenses in whatever way helps them most during this difficult period. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help ease the burden on this family and allow Dharmendra to focus on his health and healing.
