Hello everyone,
Christine, our wonderful wife and mother, is going through exceptionally a lot
medically . For those of you have known us a while, you know she has had some
"speed bumps" health-wise in the past few years. Diagnosis of Meineres Disease,
an autoimmune condition called Sjogrens, and Anklying Sponodosis along with
Adrendal Insufficiency, many major surgeries, and constant back and forth to specialists to try and figure out what works best for her and how to make life more
manageable with all the pain she goes through.
Most recently she had speech assessment, as her speech is declining due to
complications from her overwhelming health impediments and nerve damage. It
didn’t go as well as we’d hoped. She needs a Respiratory Specialist and
Larongologist. She may have scar tissue from being intubated so many times over
the past couple of years. She has a cognitive deficiency and articulator damages
from nerve damage. We don't know if her speech will ever return with the clarity
and power she once had. She needs Speech Therapy 2x a week. Physical therapy,
Occupational therapy, as well as her regular appts to pain management. She
regularly sees her Rhuematologist, Otolarangologist, Neurologist, and regular
Internist.
We need to change things in order to help Chris' medical needs. Namely, move to
a more conducive home for her needs such as no stairs, and
the new electric wheelchair that she will soon have to use will require a vehicle
with a lift. Currently she spends her days home alone in isolation as we live in a
rural area. It is not good for her mental or physical health. When she has a
doctor's appointment, my Dad Harry is required to take a FMLA Day which costs
about $200 each appointment. She will now need Speech Therapy 2x per week,
OT, PT 1-2 times per week, pain management every other week, as well as her
regular Rhuematologist, Neurologist, Resipiratory Specialist, and Otolarangolist.
It's alot for anyone. She relies primarily on my dad, as I am only available to her 1
day per week with my work schedule.
People have asked how they can help. The best way to help is to:
Mail her a card
Ask dad if you can help with transportation
Mom tries to help buy selling Pampered Chef (make a purchase)
Donate here
We were told, this is alot for anyone, so ask for help. Help!
Thank you!
