Dani Procell Byrd's Health Expenses

Donation protected
Dear Friends, I am writing on behalf of my best friend, Angela "Dani" Procell Byrd. Dani had been in and out of the hospital complaining of severe stomach pains that started in the beginning of 2015. She started running fever and her doctor became concerned because they could never find anything wrong before. On April 9, 2015, she was scheduled to have a surgery on what they thought was bowel obstruction. On that day, nobody had a clue what was in store for her. Everyone just figured she would have surgery, recover, and go home. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
Let me now tell you a little about Dani. She is a sweet, loving, caring, and amazing wife, mother, daughter, and friend. She has the best personality and her humor is one of a kind. She is a blast to be around and loved by so many. Dani was diagnosed at the young age of 15 with Lupus. By age 19, her kidneys began to fail, causing her to be put on dialysis. Could you imagine having to go 3 times a week to dialysis for the last 16 years? But even though she was sick, she never let that bring her down. She always lit up the room with her big smile and she always was full of laughter and kindness. If you did not not know her, you would have never known what all she was going through. In 2014, Dani was diagnosed with stomach and groin cancer and had to have radiation therapy. At her check up, she received the great news that she was cancer free. Little did we know the impact the radiation would have on her small intestine. This is where the story starts. Almost 18 months ago, Dani had her 1st surgery and the Doctor's realized she had scar tissue on her small intestine from the radiation that was causing her pain. After the 1st surgery, she became septic, causing her to be in ICU for 50 days. June 2015, she had her 2nd surgery and they decided it was too risky to close her incision. She then spent 65 days in ICU. During this time, she had feeding tubes, bed sores to the bone with exposed nerves, wound vacs on her stomach and bed sores, etc. Basically, she was suffering and there was a time we did not know if she would make it and some days she would comment that she was tired and wanted to give up! But she is the strongest person I know and a fighter. She knew that she had family to consider....her mom and dad who have always been by her side, her husband Tommy that she has been with for 16 years, and especially her precious 8 year old son, Ty. He needs and wants his Mommy to come home. She ended up having 4 surgeries total and the last one they placed an ostomy bag. She has been back and forth between hospitals and rehabs....just complication or set backs all the time!!! She is learning how to walk again and is doing awesome in PT! But unfortunately, her insurance has ran out for a life time at Life Care and she is scheduled to go home at the end of this month. She is terrified because she is use to having a 24 hour nurse and now she is going home. She does not want to put the burden on her family and by raising this money, we can get her the proper care she needs. If anybody deserves this, it is Dani! God is Awesome and if you can't donate, please pray for comfort and a speedy recovery! Any amount or prayer will be appreciated and thank you in advance!
