"Rest" a short film
Donation protected
In a church basement a woman stands to lead a 12-step meeting called PIRSG, the Peace In Rest Support Group. Through the reliving of strong memories of her childhood, our concepts of age, death and the idea of “forever” is challenged as we discover that this is in fact a support group for people who find themselves unable to die.
What if you couldn’t die? Would life be one happy, endless journey? Or would you just wish it was all over? That’s the question writer/director Joan Cassin explores in a short film she’ll soon be creating with the help of many amazingly talented crew members in the Boston creative community, including Director of Photography Matt Dorris , editor Brian Cassin and producer Diana LaBrecque.
And if you think the subject matter asks a tough question, here’s one that we think is even tougher: Would you consider donating to make this film a reality? While many incredibly talented, hardworking people are donating their time and energy to the production, there will still be some expenses that cost real actual money.
Travel, meals, talent, specialty equipment and post finishing(not to mention the drug-fueled wrap party (just kidding)) will all add up. Anything you could give to help defray these costs would be hugely appreciated. Thanks for considering a donation. This project means a lot to us and we can't wait to get filming.
