My name is Allen Townsend and I am raising money to help my brother Lynn and his family with their living expenses while he is in rehabilitation for traumatic brain injury due to lack of oxygen after a heart attack. Lynn was actually in the hospital on an unrelated medical condition and suffered a heart attck in the middle of the night in his sleep. Due to the fact that he had no monitors on him, the heart attack wasn't discovered until staff came in for a vitals check. After spending 4 days in a coma, he is awake and is slowly showing some improvement. His road to recovery will be long and difficult (and expensive).
Lynn has spent the last 25 years serving our country in the United States Air Force as a special operations pilot.
Since his first heart attack a few years ago, he has been taken off active duty and placed on reserve status. He is in a "no points-no pay" status which means, if he doesn't work, he doesn't get paid (unlike active duty). His leave balance has been exhausted and members of his squadron are in the process of trying to donate leave time to him. The military will retire him but this will take a few months to process.
Lynn is working at Duke Field in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. He was in the hospital there in Ft. Walton Beach. He has been moved to Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. His wife and mother are staying in Jacksonville to be near him, but are having to stay in a hotel and are incuring those costs as well. Lynn is having to undergo intense physical and occupational therapy. He took 3 steps today!
I am asking for help to get his family through this difficult time. The money will be used for living expenses. This money would allow his family to focus on him and his recovery over the next couple of months. Lynn has always been the big brother. The strong one.
Now he needs someone to help him. Any help that you can give will be greatly appreciated by Lynn and his family. Any help that you can give my big brother will be greatly appreciated by me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
