UPDATE 11/12/23: The outpouring of support for my dad over these last six months has been amazing. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this fundraiser -- some multiple times. These funds have already been so helpful to my mom and dad to soften the blow of expected and unexpected medical expenses, to cover things like lawn mowing and snow removal that my dad can no longer do, and to make the most of the time we have left with our beloved Pa-heim (one of Gary's many nicknames).
We've set a new goal of $18,000 to help my mom and dad in the coming months. If you feel called to contribute, or contribute again, we'd really welcome it in whatever amount feels right to you.

Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you! ❤️❤️❤️

Original post 5/7/23:
Our family just got some tough news: my dad, Gary Haaheim, was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer on 4/27/23. The best information we have right now says that we have 6-12 months left together.
Many of you have asked how you can help, and donating here is one way. Gary's pancreatic cancer diagnosis comes on the heels of a multiple myeloma diagnosis in 2020, and complications from the myeloma treatment which have left him with limited mobility and requiring more intensive caregiving.
This all has put a strain on our family, and especially on our mother, Nancy, as his primary caregiver. Your support would mean the world right now: it would help replace some of my mom’s lost income as she scales back her part-time work to focus on caregiving. It would help cover the increasing medical costs associated with my dad’s care. And it would help my parents be able to hire help for things like lawn care and home maintenance that my dad is no longer able to do.
But perhaps most important of all, your support can help our family focus on what matters most right now: making the most of the time we have left together, and focusing fully on supporting "Pa-heim" (as he is affectionately called in our family) to walk this path that's ahead of him.
If you want to follow Gary's journey in the months to come you can follow his CaringBridge page, where we'll be posting regular updates: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/garyhaaheim
And if a donation of money isn't the right fit for you right now, but you want to learn about other ways to help, reach out to us. In the wake of this tough news, it's been inspiring to see the ways our friends, family and communities have rallied and shown your love and support. Thank you for being with us and supporting us through this challenging time. ❤️
Much love,
Justin and the Haaheim family
