Bring Audrey & Darrell Home After Eaton Fire
Donation protected
Audrey, Darrell and his son Robbie have been unable to go home since January 7th due to damage from the Eaton Fire. They have stayed at 5 AIRBNBs for more than a month now while trying to find a new place to live. Their beloved home in Pasadena is no longer safe to live in due to ash and structural damage from the January California wildfires. Their landlord told them to go and find a new place to live and that the home cannot be repaired due to insurance issues.
"So, here we are -- living out of suitcases, and dragging around ourselves, Darrell's 13-year-old son, and 2 family cats while trying to keep our jobs, our sanity, and look for a new place to live. When we do sign a new lease, which we are praying will be soon, we have to buy at the very minimum new mattresses, bedding, fridge, and moving expenses. Almost all of our belongings are damaged beyond salvage from ash. We are hoping to save our wooden furniture such as desks and nightstand and dry clean our clothing.
When the wind and then fire tore through our tree-lined neighborhood on January 7th, 2025, Robbie looked out his bedroom window and saw the flames coming down the hill into our backyard. We had to flee our home, grab our pets and a change of clothes in a matter of minutes. It has been a terrifying, overwhelming ordeal for us. It is a painful feeling to not be able to go home.
We need help to get back on our feet -- to secure a new place and belongings.”
Thank you!
