Dwynell Mitchell's 2nd Cancer Fight

On August 3rd, 2016, our close friend Dwynell Mitchell was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, an aggressive blood cancer. He has been in the hospital since his diagnosis, where he has begun an intense cycle of chemotherapy treatments. What makes his diagnosis so heart-breaking is that in 2008, Dwynell was diagnosed with A.L.L. (Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia), & through prayer, faith, and intense chemotherapy treatments finally went into remission. They, and no one else, could have ever predicted that he would again be diagnosed with a blood cancer (a completely different type) of an aggressive nature. 

Dwynell & his wife Ketrina dedicate their lives to kids. Their non-profit organization in Tyrone, I Beat A.L.L. Inc., includes programs & services that provide after school care & enrichment programs for countless kids who would otherwise be home alone after school. They also provide summer camps & basketball teams & training out of their facility.

Dwynell does it all, impacting too many lives daily to count. He currently coaches his IBALL teams, coaches at Whitewater Middle School, works as a paraprofessional at the middle school, all while working tirelessly at their nonprofit organization that bears the name of the first cancer that threatened his life.

My husband Buddy & I believe in everything the Mitchell's stand for & want to help them fight this fight. Coach Mitchell was an essential part of our coaching staff at Landmark Christian School (where Buddy & I coached up until last year) where he modeled daily his patience, kindness, & wise approach to coaching the game of basketball. He is like a brother to Buddy, and he & Ketrina are two people that Buddy & I admire more than anyone we know. They make a difference each & every day in the lives of countless families in our communities; it's our turn to help them!

The money we raise will be used to help with Dwynell's medical expenses which are quickly piling up. They are in the middle of basketball court renovations at I Beat A.L.L., and we are hoping to raise enough to help fund these renovations while helping keep the doors to their incredible organization open.
