Terry Meysen who is originally from Nanaimo BC Canada, has created a young family and has been living in Kenting, Southern Taiwan for many years now.....and they are used to the volitile weather that mother nature can throw at them as they live right on the coast.
But this Cyclone that hit their coast yesterday, September 15th, was one that will never be forgotten as it hit directly on thier home and their neighbourhood changing it forever.
For awhile, we his friends didn't even know if he survived this catastrophe until this morning when we got this little Facebook message from him:
"Yesterday morning was one of the scariest moments of my life. I thought my house was going to blow away with us in it! We hunkered down in one of our bathrooms that has no windows and prayed for our safety. The aftermath is like a bomb went off in my property. Probably wont have power, water or cell phone service for a week. We stayed in a hotel last night in Hengchun which has power. The dream was destroyed overnight. Not sure what we're going to do now."
Terry and his family live a simple life and it has been destroyed overnight and I believe if we all come together we can help him rebuild enough of it to be able to create a new dream.
It would only take each of us to donate a small amount between $10 and $50 to make his life a whole lot different.
This is a time to show your true heart and give to a mate who is in need.
If you want more details on Terry's situation, feel free to contact me via Private Message on Facebook or by email.
Feel free to send your words of support directly to Terry, but please do not ask and expect him to reply to your questions, as he has enough going on at this time....I am happy to answer any of your questions I can.
Come on NDSS Grad 1987.....if each of us chip in....we can do this!
Be part of Terry's future and help him rebuild what they have lost.
