Miles for Bubby

Thousands of people run for a cause everyday...one could even say that running and fundraising go hand in foot. So when I decided to run the Detroit Maratahon there was only one family I wanted to run for...the Kelley's.
I have known Tim and Annie for the better part of my life. They are not only great people but they are even better parents. I have never seen two people come together to raise three beautiful children with such grace and joy.
Now raising kids is no easy task (or so I have been told). But when one of your three children (Bubby) suffers from PKS (Pallister–Killian syndrome), an extremely rare genetic disorder, there are plenty of additional hurdles to overcome. One of those hurdles as our Bubby gets older, the need for adequate transportation. Recently,
the Kelley's had to purchase a rather expensive conversion van retrofitted to accomodate Bubby and his wheelchair.
The end goal of $5,000 for this campaign will go a long way toward helping the Kelley family out. It will in no way cover the cost of Bubby's van but I feel as though
we can all do something to help. Hell...I know Tim and Annie pretty well, and if we can exceed our goal, maybe we can even talk them into painting the van like my personal favorite van, the ‘A-Team’ van.
Every day I am thankful for having the type of life that allows me to run a marathon, go out with friends, and explore the city in which I live. I also know that Bubby, Tim and Annie are just as thankful and excited about their lives, every single day. No matter what you throw at them, they never waiver and they certainly never lose their trademark smiles. That's why expenses like these aren't always part of the plan but they are the things that amazing parents sacrifice to make sure their kids have everything they need in life. And that’s just what Tim and Annie do for Bubby. Every. Single. Day.
Thanks everybody!
