Megan Boas' Battle Against Cancer

In November 2015 our dear friend Megan Boas was diagnosed with Peritoneal Mesothelioma Cancer.  Megan is a long time Truckee local who has resided here for 21 years.  She is raising two young beautiful daughters in this amazing Town.

 

Megan has met with many doctor’s at several top Medical Universities in the country which focus on this rare type of cancer.  She underwent a six round treatment of chemotherapy which began in December 2015.  That treatment has kept the cancer stable. 

 

Beginning in October 2016 Megan will begin a special government clinical trial at the National Institutes of Health in Washington DC.  Although the Institute will cover the medical costs, she will be incurring many outside expenses over the next year.

 

As a community we are coming together to raise money which will help cover some of her expenses during this time.  Every contribution made will go 100% towards a fund set-up for her and her children.   It is our goal to raise $10,000. to help Megan continue this journey and know the town of Truckee is behind her in this fight!
