Jackie's Battle

Being 22 years old is a time where one should be carefree and enjoying life.  The thought of the future should be exciting and filled with promise: looking forward to college graduation; the starting of a career; walking down the aisle towards her future husband; and looking forward to hearing the echoing laughter of future children.  Unfortunately, a diagnosis of cancer at the age of 22 sets one on a very different path than anyone could ever plan for or imagine.  A path that is fearful and uncertain, where one must battle everyday for the single most precious thing we have: more time with our family, friends, and loved ones; and more time to allow for graduations, weddings, and children.  

The family of Jackie Paredes have chosen to set up this GoFundMe campaign on her behalf because we know she is in for the fight of her life after receiving the unfortunate diagnosis of stage IV Hodgins’s Lymphoma, and recently started chemotherapy treatments.  While this type of cancer is treatable, and we have every intent of getting Jackie through this, it is nonetheless a very terrifying journey.  A journey that will no doubt require months of treatment at expenses and costs that are unforeseen and unknown at this time.  We realize the financial burden will be high; however, we will spare absolutely no expense in this battle against cancer.   We will not be able to do this alone and turn to you for help.   We are not in anyway asking for your last, but rather just asking for whatever you have to spare as you join with us on this fight to keep Jackie with us.
