Robert Garrison Family Support Fund
Hello, I am asking for your help. A long time friend and classmate of mine has suffered a major medical injury. Robert Garrison had a severe seizure on September 9, 2016. At which time he quit breathing and had to be put on life support. He has been in a critical care unit since the initial seizure, in a hospital 60 miles away from home. At this point, he has continued to suffer from seizures, has liver failure, pneumonia, his brain function is still unknown, is still on a ventilator and has some injury due to intubation. All we do know is he has a long road ahead of him as does his family. We hope and pray for Robert's recovery. Robert and his family have had a rough go of it. He is married to Cindi Garrison who is currently beside herself with all the decisions to be made and being there for her family. Rob is the father of 4 boys, Damon, Austin, Jonathan and Christian. And a grandfather to Lane. His boys are his world. At just 40 years old, Rob is not only a husband, father and grandfather, but also an Army Veteran, he was injured during active duty. He has had a hard time holding down regular employment due to suffering from PTSD and chronic pain from his injuries. The VA has been slow to helping along the way. In recent years, Robert was very active in the Boy Scouts with Jonathan and Christian. He has been there for many young men in our community. Unfortunately, tragedy doesn't miss this family. Rob's oldest son, Damon passed due to a drowning accident. Damon left his very young son, Lane behind. Robert and Cindi have regular visitations with Lane and do all they can to help support him. Then around a year later, they lost everything in a house fire. With faith, hard work and friends, they managed to start over again. I am asking if you can give anything at all for this family that you please do. Cindi is staying at the hospital in a lounge most of the time. When she has the boys with her, they get a hotel room to stay in. Not to mention the medical expenses that insurance will not cover, there are travel expenses, lodging, food, care for the boys and the ever looming household bills. And as always...good vibes, thoughts and prayers are needed.
Today is September 23, 2016, early this morning, our friend and family member was released into the arms of God. His body has finally found the peace it has longed for. I have set a new goal, as this is also a funeral fund now. May you be joined with your father and son in heaven...with love RIP Robert.
