On x12/26/16, just a day after Christmas, Leah Ladislaw suffered an aggravation to an existing Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
After 10 days at A.I. Dupont Hospital for Children, Leah has been able to return home but is currently unable to walk on her own, has incurred a seizure, and must participate in on-going rehab for the next 2 months. The rehab sessions last upwards of 3 hours a day and occur 3-5 times a week. Everyone that knows Leah can attest to her high spirit and energy but the TBI has caused Leah to stop all activities including attending school and playing sports.
It has become necessary for Mother (Jackie Norbeck) to dedicate her days and nights to being by Leah’s side while Father (John Ladislaw) continues his work responsibilities. Jackie will remain out of work for at least the next 2 months to ensure that Leah is able to attend all sessions, appointments and follow-ups. Unfortunately, an unplanned event like this doesn’t allow you to prepare for the medical and living expenses that are increasing drasticly and quickly.
This GoFundMe page has been setup as a way for all individuals who have graciously offered assistance and help. There has been an outpouring of support and love from familiy, friends and the community and we appreciate everything.
