Mike and Gayle Ducote live in St. Gabriel, Louisiana.  Their house flooded in the August 2016 flooded that affected 26 parishes in Louisiana.  They live in Iberville Parish.  Their house has been underway for well over a week now, with no expectation of when the water will go down.  They already know the floors in the house are ruined.  The bottom kitchen cabniets will have to be replaced.  The really sad part is that they do not have flood insurance because they do not live in a flood zone so never had to purchase flood insurance.  The house has never flooded in over 40 years of the existance of theis house.  This house was Mike's parents' home which they purchased from them when they moved back into the Baton Rouge area.  Both Mike and Gayle are retired and living on a fixed income.  With no flood insurance it will be a long, hard road for them to rebuild and move back into their home.   Their son and granddaughter live with them so that has added to their stress level also.

This fund will assist them in putting their lives back in order.  Whatever you can donate, no matter how small, will help.  As Gayle said "every little bit helps."  Please pass this to all Gayle and Mike's family members and friends so we can reach as many people as possible.  Thank you to all that donate.  Family is everything and we believe in helping each and every one as much as we can.

This fund is being set up by Gwen Emick and Cheryl Peters.  We are Gayle's first cousins.  Gayle's mother and our mother were sisters and we were all very close.  The money will go directly to Gayle and Mike and will be used to rebuild their home once all the water is gone from the inside.  Cheryl and I both were very blessed and our homes did not flood so we want to help Gayle and Mike as much as we can.
