After 19 years with her company, she was recently laid off. Despite this setback, she remained optimistic, seeing it as an opportunity for new beginnings.

Unfortunately, in March 2024, her journey took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. What was initially anticipated to be a straightforward lumpectomy has evolved into a more aggressive treatment plan. She now requires 16 weeks of chemotherapy followed by a mastectomy.

This diagnosis has brought about an unusually challenging time for her physically, emotionally, and financially. Due to the circumstances of her layoff and only working part time, she does not have access to PFMLA or short-term disability benefits.

As she focuses on her health and recovery, Robin is facing the challenging task of managing her living expenses, including mortgage, car, utilities, and basic necessities.
