My name is Julie Mazzetti, I am a close friend of the Smith Family; when I realized that they were in need I knew I needed to help.  I worked with the Smith Family to create this fund for Chris, his wife Megan (Fields) and their two sons.  Chris and Megan both grew up in Pacifica, going to Terra Nova High School and then started their family here.  They moved a little over a year ago up near Redding, CA.

On June 21, Chris was airlifted from Redding to UCSF and was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  We are all thankful the tumor was benign.  Chris had to undergo two surgeries, one to remove the tumor and again a month later to relieve excess fluid.  Chris has been on unpaid leave for two months and Megan has missed a great deal of unpaid work caring for and driving Chris from Redding to UCSF and back. 

As you can imagine, this has been very stressful on the family and their resources.  We are not yet sure how much longer Chris will be out of work, in the meantime the bills continue to pile up.  Any help you can give to help this family recover will be greatly appreciated!
