Medical Fund For Baby Titus

Donation protected

Hello Everybody,

Our baby boy Titus came to us early via emergency C-Section on October 7th.  He was not getting the proper blood flow he needed due to the cord being wrapped around his neck 4 times.  They got him out of there and got him stable on a breathing tube and multiple other lines into his little body.  About 4 hours later they flew him on a plane to OHSU in Portland, from the hospital in Bend, OR where we live.   We were not able to go with him right away, but got over here to Portland as soon as Tessa was discharged from the hospital.   That was very tough seeing him go, but we are together again now.

Titus needs stomach surgery this first week of his life, so that he can start to process milk soon after and start growing.  He has a blockage where the food exits the stomach that will need to be bypassed,  Duodenal Stenosis is the technical term.  He has a few other issues with his blood as well and his cell counts, but  they are expecting that to get better as he gets stronger.

He will also need Heart Surgery in a few months, so we will be doing this all over again at that point, assuming we can take him home for a couple months in between surgeries.  Titus also has Down Syndrome, so we have a life long road of challenges ahead of us, but we are most concerned about these urgent issues keeping him from being healthy.

We do not like having to ask for financial help (I think most people don't) but I feel like I have no choice and this may be the only way to keep our family above water right now.  Below is a description of our expenses related to this and what we will use any donations for.

- Out of pocket costs associated with the Airlink Life Flight plane ride to Portland.

-Out of pocket costs associtated with all of his care while at OHSU including his surgeries, testing, and 24/7 neonatal intensive bedside care.

-  We may possibly have to use some of the donations to help with our expenses for our family having to stay in Portland and miss work.  I will be missing at least a month of income and still have a mortgage and a family to support (for those that don't know us personally we also have a 2-year old little girl, Peyton, to take care of during all of this.)

We are so thankful for any help that we receive, this has thrown our family into a whirlwind and we are just grateful to be together right now.  Any money we receive that is not needed to fullfill the above needs for our family will be donated to another GoFundMe of another family in a similar situation.

Thank you all so much,

Micah, Tessa, Peyton, and especially Titus
