210 Miles to End Breast Cancer

My name is Dan. I'm 23 years old, and I work as an Emergancy Medical Technician in Sourthern California. I'm an avid paddleboarder, and cancer has been a big problem in my family.
Cancer: When I was a young teanager my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is not alone, as one in every eight women in America gets breast cancer. Prior to this time, my father had been diagnosed with another type of cancer, a liposarcoma, and had undergone multiple surgieries. Having seen both my parents battle cancer, I feel compelled to join the fight!
Mission: Early this June, I will be travelling on a 11 foot stand up paddleboard along the Southern California coast from Ventura County to San Diego. This voyage will take about 8 days and cover aproximately 210 miles of coastline.
My inspiration is to accomplish a unque feat and spread a powerful message at the same time. I am trying to spread awareness about a terrible disease that affects millions, including myself and my family.
Voyage: My voyage is illustrated above. I have never paddled this distance before, and I am not sure anyone else has ever done it either. I have broken the 8 days up into 25 to 27 mile-long gaps along the coast. Depending on the ocean currents and weather conditions, each day will probably consist of 8-9 hours of paddling. The remiander of my time will be used to set up camps and allocate provisions. I will be bringing everything with me for each day on the board so packing lightly is cruicial. I will be camping along the way or staying at friends/acquaintances houses. Strategy, leaving early each day and pacing my endurance will be key factors.
Funding: I am aiming to raise $20 dollars for every mile I paddle. I am very aware that I may not reach my fundraising goals, but please remember every dollar counts!
No matter how much I do raise I will still make the voyage. The trip is self funded and will be minimally expensive. Therefore, none of the money raised will be used for the trip. Rather, 100% of it will go directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Once I begin the trip, I will create and post a video log so that everyone that has supported me can follow the adventure!
