Cancer Treatment Bills

Hi. My name is Sierra Bond. I'm a 13-year-old girl and was recently diagnosed with a cancer called synovial sarcoma. It's one of the rarest forms of soft tissue cancer in the world and is more difficult to treat because doctors are still trying to learn how to stop it from spreading.
My journey with cancer began almost a year ago. I was sitting on the couch in my living room when my father got off the phone and sat down next to me and told me that the test results came back positive. I went numb and then cried.
I first remember a lump on my inner right thigh in the spring of 2015. It grew to the size of a grapefruit in only three months. I didn't think anything of it, because it didn't bother me. Thankfully my family noticed it during a day a the local pool and took me to the doctor. I'm grateful for their watchful eye or my outcome may have been much worse. You see, the doctors removed the cancer in November before it could spread to other parts of my body.

My chemotherapy treatments started in December to kill any possible remaining cancer cells in my body. The journey was long and difficult. I slept most of the time and when I wasn't sleeping I felt sick. The nausea medication helped, but I threw up anyway. I lost 10 percent of my body weight because it was hard to eat. The doctors fed me intravenously to help keep my weight up. I'm thankful to have a high pain threshold. Most of the time I was in good spirits thanks to support from my family. When I lost my hair my father and siblings cut their hair too.

I'm grateful my father's insurance is covering 90 percent of the cost, but that leaves us with the remaining 10 percent. We are asking for your help to cover the cost of my cancer treatments that preserved my life, but now we have a the bills, which are in excess of $20,000. The money will be used to pay off all my medical bills and help my family move forward.
I'm extremely thankful for any help you could send my way.
Love,
Sierra Bond
