This is a huge ask and quite honestly embarrassing. I’m an essential worker with a senior program where I live. Back in March I got a suspected covid infection. I was out of work. As a new employee I did not accrue enough time off to make sure all bills and needs were met. I tried going back to work even though I still felt sick and weak. I did not last very long. I had a psychiatric emergency and was sent home until further notice. HR says because it’s health related I can not file unemployment and need to file Disability. I am waiting for it to kick in but my doctor is taking her sweet time with the paperwork( yes I call and remind her daily). Disability rep spoke with me and said if approved my amount would be X( not even close to what I was making as this is a new job). I am requesting funding and help in catching up on late rent and bills that I have accrued. I understand this group is not for emergencies but if I don’t put my energy out there than I’ve done nothing on my own behalf.
