Evelyn Hairston has dedicated her career to helping breast cancer patients, but now she is diagnosedwith cancer and needs help.
When she recently received a gastric cancer diagnosis, Evelyn said, “I thought if I ever got cancer it would be breast cancer, the disease I know the most about”. This is not the case for Evelyn. Gastric cancer is a rare disease; one so rare that little medical research has been done and few clinical trials are available.
Evelyn is receiving chemotherapy in hopes of reducing the tumor and preventing the cancer from spreading. However, recent medical tests are inconclusive and her physician suggested a research study for her to participate in. This trial is costly. Even with health insurance, the cost of having cancer is high and includes out of pocket expenses for treatment, physician and clinic visits, prescription medications, and sometimes surgery and hospital stays. Worrying about how to pay for care increases stress to an already bad situation and precious energy is spent that needs to be reserved for healing.
We ask you to consider making a donation that will help Evelyn and her family pay her medical bills and BEAT CANCER!
At age 37, Evelyn and her husband, David, live for spending family time with their adorable one year old daughter, Henley Rose. Currently, watching Henley learn to walk is the favorite family passtime!
Evelyn has a very special gift of caring for others. In addition to caring for her family, every day at work, Evelyn touches the lives of women diagnosed with breast cancer. Through her job as a patient navigator at Parkland Health & Hospital System, Evelyn works tirelessly to make sure women understand various procedures and sometimes the diagnosis of breast cancer. There is no one more dedicated to showing love and compassion and “going the extra mile” for her patients.
Evelyn has been extremely positive in this uphill journey and is focused on beating the odds with this horrific cancer. Please consider making a donation to help pay for medical bills for Evelyn. Your donation, no doubt, will help ease the minds of Evelyn and her family.
Thank you in advance from The Hairston and Rosales family.
