David & Tammy's Health Recovery

As many of you know, my parents, David & Tammy Sparks were struck while riding their motorcycle on their Anniversary weekend by a driver who was under the influence. Tammy suffered a severe concussion, several broken ribs and a broken foot. David sufferered a very bad broken leg and several broken ribs as well. David had surgery but will be hospitalized for another week followed by a couple weeks at a rehab facility. We are so very fortunate they weren't more seriously injured but they have a very long road of recovery ahead. David will be zero weight bearing (much less be able to walk) for a minimum of 3 months if the bone heals properly, but that isn't guarenteed and an another surgery may be in his future (prayers please!). Unfortunately, this means he won't be able to work at least through the end of the year and his company doesn't offer short or long term disability. Due to his neck surgery in the Spring, he has minimal sick/vacation time left. After 2 weeks, he'll no longer be paid. Since he is the main breadwinner, they'll have severe financial difficulties through the end of the year. David & Tammy are and always have been the first to help anyone in need. Update: Praise the lord! David just called after talking to the owner of his company. He told him to focus on healing and that he would do his best to make sure he would be paid through his recovery! There will still be unforseen expenses but this is HUGE! What an enormous prayer answered!
