DeDe has been tested and retested and it was determined by the audiologist that she has hearing loss in her inner ear. It is conductive loss which means it can be fixed with the help of hearing aids, growth, and possibly surgery one day. She will need to repeatedly visit an ENT at UC Davis and will need to continue to see audiologists and her pediatrician. At this point, hearing aids are essential to her growth and language development and are recommended to be in use by 6 months of age. Most all insurances do not cover the cost of hearing aids so we are left to not only pay our high deductible for insurance but the cost of the hearing aids as well.

Our little DeDe (Claire Bear) means the world to us and we want her to have the same opportunities as any other child. She has a beautiful soul and a quiet strength that will endure this obstacle.
