My name is Dave Cameron, and I've been a swim coach for almost 20 years, mostly at the Minneapolis YWCA.
For almost five years, I've been blessed to work with an incredible athlete who continues to show new levels of commitment, potential, and inspiration to our coaching team, youth program, and our whole community.
Natalie Sims started swimming on a team barely more than an Olympiad ago. Now she is in Rio, preparing to represent her country in four individual events and possibly even a relay. Her parents and teammates will be there to support her. Although she finished her journey with the excellent coaches of the US National Paralympic Team, I feel that I owe it to her, to her family, and to our whole swim team, to support her and to continue to chronicle her journey.
I've recieved a generous start on travel support from the Minneapolis YWCA, where I have built and grown the Otters, Masters, and Total Immersion/Private Lesson programs for over 16 years. Any support you can offer will help offset travel expenses for this event, and if I exceed my goal, all additional funds will be donated back to the YWCA to help support meet travel and training expenses of current and future Paralympic athletes and their coaches.
