Ayudemos a Donovan para que pueda recibir un riñón.

Hola me llamo Alex y estoy recaudando fondos para mi hermano.

Mi hermano se llama Donovan y tiene 31 años. Donovan es mi hermano, pero también es hijo, esposo y padre de dos hermosas niñas de 7 y 2 años. Él fue diagnosticado con Insuficiencia Renal Crónica (IRC) en agosto del año pasado (2024) y a partir de ahí ha empezado con su tratamiento a través de una terapia sustitutiva de hemodialisis 2 veces por semana para poder limpiar su cuerpo ya que sus riñones dejaron de funcionar.

Después de casi 8 meses en hemodialisis su cuerpo poco a poco se ha ido debilitando por los estragos del tratamiento pero él no deja de luchar y mantiene las fuerzas y la fe necesaria para salir adelante y vencer la enfermedad.

Lamentablemente la IRC es una enfermedad que no solo debilita el cuerpo, sino también la mente e incluso el bolsillo de quienes la padecen. Cada sesión de hemodialisis tiene un costo significativo y considerando que Donovan requiere tomar dos sesiones por semana esto y todos los medicamentos necesarios para seguir su tratamiento han representado un gasto importante para Donovan y su familia.

Además, la enfermedad ha impactado también su vida laboral, al no poder trabajar igual que antes por su estado físico y porque el tratamiento es realmente agotador y requiere que el paciente deba descansar mucho para reponerse de cada sesión de hemodialisis.

Dentro de todo lo malo de esta enfermedad y con la tristeza que sentimos toda la familia de ver pasar a Donovan por todo esto que no le deseamos a nadie vivir algo así, esta situación nos ha servido para unirnos más como familia y en lo posible tratamos de ayudarlo a seguir adelante. Pero ahora en verdad las cosas cada vez se complican más y es por eso que buscamos tocar el corazón de las personas que lleguen a conocer su historia para que juntos podamos ayudar a Donovan a seguir en la batalla por recuperar su salud y más que nada a volver a tener una vida normal dejando atrás la enfermedad.

Donovan es un sobreviviente; ya que en 2020 fue diagnosticado con cáncer de testículo y luchó con todas sus fuerzas para salir adelante hasta vencer al cáncer. Por eso está más que comprobado que Donovan tiene unas inmensas ganas de vivir y es por ello que buscamos quien nos ayude y así poder acompañarlo en esta batalla en la que no está solo.

Los fondos recaudados serán utilizados para solventar los gastos de su tratamiento y medicamentos, pero más que nada lo que deseamos es conseguir el apoyo de todas las personas que puedan ayudar a que su transplante de riñón sea una realidad, ya que tanto la cirugía como la hospitalización, los estudios y análisis, los medicamentos y los honorarios médicos tienen costos elevados que están fuera de nuestro alcance cubrir, y en caso de lograr los fondos necesarios para ello, y hacer que su transplante sea una realidad, ya sea que alguno de sus familiares o amigos donemos un riñón para Donovan, más pronto podrá tener esa nueva oportunidad que él merece para empezar de nuevo y dejar atrás todo el sufrimiento que conlleva esta enfermedad. De antemano agradezco a todos quienes se hayan tomado un momento para leer la historia de mi hermano y sobre todo agradezco de todo corazón a quienes dentro de sus posibilidades se unan a nuestra causa, y si de momento no te es posible aportar, agradecería igual que nos ayudes a compartir su historia para que llegue a más personas!

Hello, my name is Alex, and I'm raising funds for my brother.

My brother's name is Donovan, and he's 31 years old. Donovan is my brother, but he's also a son, husband, and father to two beautiful girls, ages 7 and 2. He was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Failure (CKF) in August of last year (2024) and has since begun treatment with hemodialysis replacement therapy twice a week to cleanse his body since his kidneys had stopped functioning.

After almost 8 months on hemodialysis, his body has slowly weakened due to the ravages of the treatment, but he doesn't stop fighting and maintains the strength and faith necessary to move forward and overcome the disease.

Unfortunately, CKF is a disease that not only weakens the body, but also the mind and even the wallet of those who suffer from it. Each hemodialysis session has a significant cost, and considering that Donovan requires two sessions per week, this, along with all the medications needed to continue his treatment, has represented a significant expense for Donovan and his family.

In addition, the disease has also impacted his work life, as he has been unable to work as he used to due to his physical condition and because the treatment is truly exhausting and requires the patient to rest a lot to recover from each hemodialysis session.

Amidst all the negative aspects of this disease and the sadness our entire family feels watching Donovan go through all this—a situation we wouldn't wish on anyone—this situation has helped us unite as a family, and we try to help him move forward as much as possible. But now, things are truly becoming more complicated, and that's why we seek to touch the hearts of those who come to know his story so that together we can help Donovan continue the battle to regain his health and, above all, return to a normal life, leaving the disease behind.

Donovan is a survivor; He was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2020, and he fought with all his might to overcome it. It's more than proven that Donovan has an immense will to live, and that's why we're looking for someone to help us so we can accompany him in this battle, in which he is not alone.

The funds raised will be used to cover the costs of his treatment and medications, but more than anything, we want to enlist the support of everyone who can help make his kidney transplant a reality. The surgery, hospitalization, tests, medications, and medical fees all have high costs that are beyond our reach. If we can secure the necessary funds to make his transplant a reality, whether one of his family members or friends donates a kidney for Donovan, the sooner he can have the new opportunity he deserves to start over and leave behind all the suffering that this disease entails.
