Hi, I am Cindy, mother to Brittany Neal. I would like to try to raise money for Brittany's much needed dental surgury. All money raised will be used to pay the dental bill and any prescriptions she will need. Her surgury was intially scheduled for 9/9/16 and I was sure Brittany was going to get assistance from a fund set up to help people in these situations but she was denied today. We will need to reschedule her surgury but they won't see her until she has the $1700 in hand.
Brittany has had problems with her teeth for a long time. She was predisposed to poor enamel due to her intubation when she was born. She had braces on twice which helped align her teeth but did nothing for the enamel. And she made some poor choices years ago that added to the unhealthy teeth.
I normally would not request assistance like this, however it has now come down to Brittany's health being at risk. She was born premature and has mitral valve prolapse and aortic bicuspid. This basically means that infection in her teeth and gums could utimately take her life if left untreated. Her teeth have gotten so bad that she has had infections for over a year, they cause her extreme pain, sleepless nights, unable to eat alot of solid foods and they affect her own self esteem. She has been turned down for jobs because of her teeth, she refuses to smile as she is very self conscious about her teeth and she has been battling bouts of depression. Physical pain alone can trigger severe depression but when you add mental anxiety on top of it, it makes it much worse.
Medicaid will only pay $1000 per calendar year. Brittany's cost will be $1700. I am requesting $1800 to cover the GoFundMe costs and prescriptions. Anything over the $1800 will be donated to Dental Aid to help the next person like Brittany. If I had the funds, I would pay the whole amount myself but unfortunately this is not the case.
In advance, I would like to personally thank each of you that chose to contribute and for those of you that cannot make a financial gift, I ask for your prayers. Brittany is not aware that I am setting this account up but I know she will be touched by your kindness and compassion. I know she is taking personal steps to better herself emotionally and intellectually and I know this would be an enormous gift to her as well as a huge relief for me. Even thought she is 29, she is still my baby girl. THANK YOU!
