Shanna & Shaun Flood Recovery Fund

Donation protected
This is one of the hardest things I've ever written.

I've often reached out to many people for help, when I founded and ran "Schnauzer Rescue of Louisiana" with my dear friend Colleen Mooney and our many wonderful volunteers, but I've never had to ask for personal assistance.   It's a whole lot easier to ask for help for the animals than for yourself.

Our family of four, me (Shanna), Shaun (my fiance) and our two daughters (13 and 11 years old) were recently flooded in the "1,000 year flood event" that recently devasted Louisiana.  Our house in Walker, LA (Livingston Parish) was damaged (sheetrock, insulation, flooring, etc) along with the majority of the furniture and appliances.  While we are extremely blessed to have many friends and family help in our clean up and gutting phase, unfortunately the mold remediation and rebuilding process is going to be extremely costly.  We are blessed that the girls have a safe place to stay (with their dad) while we attempt to remediate and rebuild, but we are desperately trying to fix their rooms and bathroom first so we can get them back home.

Any donations will be used towards costs needed in the rebuilding ofour lives from the debris that the waters left behind (cleaning supplies, demolition, contruction materials, labor etc).
And if you're not able to donate, please pray for us and all people trying to rebuild their lives.
All donations and prayers are greatly appreciated!

Water rising fast.

Starting to come into the house.

Water still rising - at 1 & 1/2 feet now.

And the yucky, mucky water meets the furniture we put up on blocks, and still rising.

And the mold grows on the sofa.

Won't be able to use the tub or toilet for a while.

Water line on bricks outside.

Mold already starting just one day after water receded.

And the gutting process begins.

South Lafourche Tarpons helping with the gutting of the house.

Mormons Helping Hands help gut and clean out the storage shed.

And the pile starts to grow.

And keeps growing.

And growing.

And growing.
