On September 4, 2016, after a 20 year battle with chronic renal failure (kidney disease) Betsy Calloway has gone to be with God at the age of 36. Despite Betsy's illness, Betsy's passing was sudden and unexpected, but peaceful.
Betsy was a rare angel who never allowed her disease to dictate her life, damper her day, or stop her from spreading love to another. Betsy was often found on Facebook posting a positive message of optimism or faith. And, was known on Facebook for her 30 Days of Joy postings of which over half were posted from a hospital room.
In Betsy's 36 years on this earth, she won the Most Talkative Superlative at Arundel Senior High (Gift of Communication), completed missionary work in Honduras and India, founded the non-profit, Kidney Kare 4 Youth and Adolescents, became a spokes person for AAKP (American Association of Kidney Patients) and an NephCure advocate, wrote a book, My Life in Color, and received her undergraduate degree from UMBC while on dialysis (she was currently working on her Masters in Public Policy at Bowie State University), found love and experienced the joys of pregnancy for 5 months followed by the sorrow due to the sudden loss of her unborn child, traveled the world (Christmas in Paris and a Hogmanay New Years in Scotland), showed Kindness to all, gave away heartwarming Smiles, Hugs, Laughs and Love on a daily basis, and trusted and believed in God as her Lord Jesus Christ.
Due to Betsy's illness at such a young age, she never qualified for life insurance and now needs the support of those she loved to help her family send her home in a manner that would honor her memory.
We thank you in advance for your support. Betsy thanks you for your love.
Love,
Betsy's Family, The Calloway, Bradley, Ayodeji Family
