In June of this year my husband of 19 years, (father and grandfather) Duane Reamer, was diagnosed with Inoperable/ Incurable Stage 4 /M1 Prostate Cancer. In the short time since his initial diagnosis his cancer has metastasized into his spine, forehead, stomach and chest. Duane’s prostate cancer is extremely unusual given how aggressive it is and the way that it is spreading.
Duane is currently in his second round of 6 chemo treatments after undergoing multiple CT & Bone scans, MRI’s, biopsies and a surgery. He has already started experiencing hair loss, pain, fatigue and dizziness from the treatments. Duane has been a Truck Driver for most of his life and the current Owner Operator of Duane Reamer Trucking. He was able to drive part time prior to his first chemo treatment but is unable to work now due to the dangerous nature of these side effects.
We are very fortunate to have been accepted to The Cancer Treatment Center of America for a second opinion. Duane I and will fly to Chicago September 18th for 3 days of evaluations /testings’ and to plan our attack on this awful disease.
Travel, Medical expenses and Loss of income is very expensive and stressful for us right now.
Duane and I have always been “Givers” not “Receivers” and are extremely humbled by the outpouring support we have received from Family and Friends. We truly appreciate everyone pulling together in many different ways to help us in our hour(s) of need.
Friends have recommended setting up this page to make it possible for others near and far to help in whatever way they can.
Please continue to help any way you are able (financially, physically, emotionally, and with prayer).
We are forever grateful and appreciative.
God Bless you all and please keep us in your prayers.
Love,
Duane and Candy Reamer
