Dear friends and family,
It is with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news of the passing of a dear friend Sam Mulingwa. Sam is a close family friend and the youngest son of Simon Musyoka, who I have been working closely with on the mango drying venture in Kenya. Simon and his family have been close friends for 30 years, from when I was a child growing up in Kenya.
I’ve known and had the opportunity to support and mentor Sam for the past 22 years, from the time he started elementary school. Sam was a dedicated teacher who was 100% dedicated to providing his rural students with a better education, often using his own limited funds as a new teacher to purchase learning materials and supplies for his students. For the past two years Sam was a student at Jomo Kenyatta university working on a Masters Degree in Education.
Tragically, Sam left us too soon and way too young due to the profound struggles he faced. In honor of his memory and the positive impact he had on so many lives, I am reaching out to you for support in raising funds for his funeral and burial expenses. Your contribution will not only help ease the financial burden on his grieving family but also ensure that a dedicated teacher, son, and leader receives a dignified farewell. Sam will be buried in Kitui on Saturday.
Kenya was especially hard hit with Covid and is still struggling to recover. Money and resources are really tight.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
