Blake's Top Surgery Fund

Blake (He/Him) is a black trans man living in North Carolina. He's obsessed with Marvel movies, Video games, cats, Horror Movies, and just generally being the Biggest Goofball. On top of being hilariously adorable, Blake has a huge heart. From helping me rescue injured animals to selflessly supporting his friends and family, it really feels like there's no end to Blake's love.
For the past 8 years he's been taking steps toward transitioning from a body which doesn't express the gender he truly is. He began HRT in August of 2016. And despite the positive impact this has had on his crippling dysphoria, Blake continues to bind his chest. As you can imagine, 8 years of binding has taken a large toll on his mental and physical health. Recently, he's begun to have difficulty breathing and fears permanent health issues, such as deformed ribs.
It's time for Blake to get the top surgery he dreams of and deserves.
For those who don't know Blake, he is the most compassionate and independent person I know and have ever met. In every facet of life, he refuses "handouts", and believes that others are more deserving of money or time. I disagree, as I know many others do too.
This fund will serve to pay for the entirety of Blake's top surgery and recovery, as well as transportation to and from his chosen surgeon and a place to stay. Since Blake doesn't know this fund exists, the goal set here is just an estimate. Any money which exceeds the price of Blake's chosen surgery will go toward getting his name and gender marker both legally changed.
Due to the potential health risk of him binding for such an extended period, our goal is to raise said amount by November 26th, 2020 (Thanksgiving Day). Blake, a first-generation college student, has a tight schedule. This date, hopefully, will allow Blake to receive his surgery over the Holiday break, and enjoy 2021 as the handsome trans man that he is.
I also want to express the deepest gratitude to anyone who decides to support Blake on his journey. Simply sharing this fundraiser would make a world of difference.
